When something feels broken in your marriage, with your partner or with your kids or family, it's hard to know where to start. Whether you're dealing with infidelity, growing distance, constant conflict, concerns over pornography use or compulsive gambling or internet use with loss of trust, you don't have to figure it out alone. Anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and anger management are often also involved.

For 30 years, I've been helping couples, teens, and families throughout Warwick and Monroe in Orange County, NY and in New City, NY serving Tuxedo, Nyack and surrounding areas in Rockland County.
Teaching the language of emotions and healthy communication, I help partners move from resentment and disconnection to understanding and trust, even after betrayal or long-standing patterns. For teens and families, I provide a supportive, structured space to address behavioral struggles, distress, and communication barriers.
I am certified in EMDR for trauma and use EFT - a form of energy psychology known as "tapping" - and hypnosis to alleviate distressing feelings and unwanted behaviors.

My Approach
My approach is practical, engaged, and collaborative. I don't just sit back and nod - I provide tools and assign homework. For true change and healing, traditional psychotherapy alone so often misses the mark. In fact, it sometimes keeps people “stuck” in their problems and addicted to the therapy itself. The traditional psychodynamic method without tools simply does not work for the vast majority of people. I teach practical skills and techniques to my patients and clients employing "hands-on" approaches.
Couples Counseling
I completed an externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, considered by many to be the most successful approach to couples counseling in the world today. It is one of the most well-researched and best validated approaches to couples therapy in North America. An astounding 86 percent of couples reported feeling happier in their relationships. This is in stark comparison to other forms of couples therapy which have been shown in studies to be only about 35 percent effective in healing relationships.
